Lessons and Training in Natural Horsemanship, Dressage, Hunter / Jumper & Pleasure
Melissa has been involved with horses since the age of 6. As a teenager she brought along young horses to compete in Eventing and Hunters. In her 20’s she attended Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre, one of the leading equine colleges in the US, majoring in Teaching and Training primarily in the Dressage and Jumping disciplines. Additionally, Melissa took courses in farrier, stable management and reining. She graduated from Meredith Manor with a Riding Master VI with high honors and is a Level 2 Certified Riding Instructor.
Following graduation, Melissa worked at Russell Equestrian Center (Pentathlon, Hunter, Jumper, Eventing) and Applewood Farm (Dressage), furthering her equine education and experience. She has also worked at facilities using holistic therapies and natural horsemanship techniques to complement her resistance free training foundation, and has started a Pony Club and taught handicapped riders.
After her husband’s military service in 2010, Melissa settled with her family in Virginia where she continues to share her knowledge and love of horses with others.
